Yippee, Day 6! Almost there!!

For our second to last day together, it’s important to keep courage by our sides, as we intensify the work. Today is another opportunity to face our fears head on, and tell yourself you can do it.

Today’s Pose of the Day is Forearm Stand, or Pincha Mayurasana.

Don’t be discouraged if you don’t get it right away. Years later I’m still working on this pose. The journey and chance to grow is always present on the mat. Beautiful things will come from sticking to the practice and determination of a pose.

So whatever it is you’re working on – forearm balance, yourself, your relationship, a career change, a side hustle, or raising a family – stay the course, love the learning curve, keep trying, over and over again, because eventually…..

…..possibly a year later, or more, you’ll be there, at your goal, reveling in all that hard work!

So remember, practice mindfully, with intention, practice often, over and over again.

Let’s muster all our courage and good vibes and get upside down!

How to do Dolphin Pose Yoga

EXERCISE

Directions: Do 3 rounds of 10 reps

Start in Downward Dog, and slowly lower your elbows down to the floor, landing in Dolphin Pose.

Then press into the palms, hug elbows into the midline, and press yourself back up to Downward Dog.

To Modify: 1) Lower one elbow down at a time. 2) Slightly bend the knees if you are tight.

FOREARM STAND CLASS

Hi friend, when starting out I highly recommend looping a strap around your upper arm bones so that your forearms stay parallel to one another. Please also use the wall to catch you.

If you have tight shoulders, do these shoulder stretches before attempting Forearm Stand.
