30-Day Program To Achieve Your Strongest Core

Beyond just having a toned tummy, having strong abdominal muscles is extremely important because it supports your entire body – it’s the basis of all movement! It is the link between your upper and lower body planes and is a powerhouse muscle group that oftentimes doesn’t get the attention it deserves. You utilize your core for everyday activities like getting out of bed, bending over to pick up your kids, unloading your groceries, gardening, and especially when working out. When our core is weak we aren’t able to maximize this muscle group’s job and instead pull from our back muscles to help.

This is a huge reason for our backs feeling sore or strained constantly.

A few other things you might experience from a weak core:

😖 poor posture

😖 shortness of breath

😖 inefficient movement patterns and increased risk of injury 

Strong abdominal muscles support your spine, balance and stabilize your body and allow you to have better posture which all help alleviate the unnecessary pressure off your back.

So basically, a strong core protects your body and allows you to do the things you love with less effort and more ease. All aesthetic goals aside, this is a muscle group that is crucial for overall health.

So next time you’re looking in the mirror, checking for those abs, remember that it’s deeper than that.
